The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen

On the surface, Lila Summers is flawless: good looks, expensive clothes, and a big, beautiful smile. But a dark past and even darker secrets are threatening to bubble over her perfect façade. She'll do anything to keep the emptiness inside hidden-which leads her into situations that always end badly. Whenever she hits bottom, there's only one person who's there to pull her out: Ethan Gregory.

Ethan set the rules a long time ago: he and Lila are just friends. He doesn't do relationships. Although his tattooed, bad boy exterior is a far cry from Lila's pretty princess image, Ethan can't deny they have a deeper connection than he's used to. If he's not careful, he could be in serious danger of becoming attached-and he's learned the hard way that attachment only leads to heartbreak.

When Lila falls farther than she ever has before, can Ethan continue to help as a friend? Or is he also getting close to falling . . . for her?

A little late to the party...

Unfortunately I have been a little crazy and really behind on my reading. Starting a new job and dealing with two small children and family has been a little time consuming. I have read in the past month a few books that I would like to talk to you about today.
First - Perfect Regret by A. Meredith Walters, The second book to the "Bad Rep" Novel. This story looks at Riley and Garrett's crazy relationship that seems to be nothing but a roller-coaster of emotions and bad mistakes.

Riley is pretty much the good girl with the good grades and the perfect life. She has it all. Until her boyfriend decides he want's to end it after a year long relationship. Riley finds herself in a miserable state and only can cope with it when she becomes angry at the boy who broke her heart. After a crazy drunken night that her best friend and room mate Maysie decides she needs to be cheered up, Riley finds herself in the arms of the last person she would want to be seen with. Non other than Garrett Bellows, Lead guitarist for "Generation Rejects". Their one night together is instantly a regret for the both of them. Emotions and pride are on the line when it comes to these high strong personalities. They don't seem to know each other, yet are still drawn to one another on a more in depth level. These complete opposites might be the only thing that can heal the hurt they both feel inside from personal daemons and  pride. "Perfect Regret" is a beautiful sequel to the "Bad Rep" novel.

The Wager by Rachel Van Dyken

The release for "The Wager" by Rachel Van Dyken will be at midnight October 1st. If you don't know about this series you best start reading now. The first book in the series is "The Bet". These books are probably the best of the YA Romance novels yet. The are fresh and fun. Rachel Van Dyken is one of the few author's that I have yet to be disappointed by. I could never get enough of it. You wont know what to do with yourself in this series. It's one of the funniest books you will probably read and Grandma Nadine will have you cramping over in tears with her crazy antics and hair brain ideas. Got to love her. So don't be afraid to try a new author that will surly capture your heart from the first chapter.

Breaking Nova (Nova #1) by Jessica Sorensen

A must read this year!!!

First off I want to say that I love Jessica Sorensen's books. She is one of many of my favorite authors and I think her writing is outstanding and her stories are exceptional and real. If you have yet to read any of her books I will tell you now to start reading. I have yet to be disappointed in any of them. From "The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden" to "The Redemption of Callie and Kayden" and "The Secret of Ella and Micha" to "The Forever of Ella and Micha". She is one writer that actually touches home with a lot of tough subjects; from child abuse, rape, alcoholic parents, suicide, depression, anxiety, survival, drugs, self worth, and trying to find your place in the world. Her books give you an insight of the reality that some kids and teens live with on a daily basis.

With the story of Nova Reed and Quinton Carter I was highly expecting a different turn out when it came close to the end of the story, but I was highly mistaken and shocked to say the least. Not that it was a bad thing in any way! I just tend to read a lot and always seem to find myself guessing the ending before it happens, and in most cases I am right on the ending, but not in this case. I was completely wrong and for that I have to apologize to the author for pretty much calling her predictable, when clearly she was not in any way with this book. Now on to the review:
Nova Reed is broken inside. Her anxiety get's the best of her and her need to control the world around her has a lot to do with the turns of events that made her world turn upside down and for many reasons. When she was twelve years old she watched her father die and found her boyfriend Landon to suicide. When she returns home form her first year at college with her "best" friend Delilah Peirce she finds herself wondering if it was such a great idea to come back tot the one place that has caused her so much pain in the first place.

Quinton Carter rather be dead or high then deal with the reality that is his life. When his father basically kicks Quinton out of the house he takes up refuge with his cousin Tristan, even after everything that happened between them.

When the two finally meet you think it will be an instant connection, but the two are so highly broken that it just seems that putting them together would be wrong. It would be like two opposite puzzle pieces trying to fit together, it just doesn't work. And two broken individuals don't fix each other. And that's why I love this story. It's not a happily ever after, even if I love them, it's real and raw and pure. I feel like this story belongs to one of my friends from high school. That's what makes it great.

This book seriously brought me to tears. You will get mad at the characters and you will laugh and feel happy and sad and get angry. But that's what a good book needs, all the emotions that need to come out. I also love that MJ Carnal brought in one of the most beautiful people in the world to be her cover models, fitness model and Shredz athlete, Alex Michael Turner. He truly is an inspiration to many and anti-bully advocate.

Caught Up In You (Loving on the Edge Series #4) by Roni Loren

I read this book in August and realized I had never put my review on my blog....
So here it is LOL....

Spoiler Alert**

As some of you may know that Roni Loren is known for her BDSM Romance novels, which by the way I love!! ;)

Watch out fictional boyfriend's theirs a new Dom in town.

HELLO, Wyatt Austin!!! ;)

Reading about Wyatt and Kelsey's story I was kind of expecting the same thing. Boy meets girl, girl and boy have a fight or girl gets kidnaped...so on and so forth. What I was not expecting is kind of a role reversal in this book. I always wanted a Domme to come into a book that I was reading and Roni delivered for me. But please do not get your hopes up, Wyatt does not submit to Kelsey in any way. Wyatt actually adapts their relationship, allowing Kelsey to be who she is with out having to completely give up on what she needs.

That's one of the reasons that I love this story. Wyatt was willing to make changes to be with Kelsey and not have her change who she was for him.

They both push limits and boundaries with one another and still seem to come out on top. If you have not read any of Roni's books please don't hesitate to get one. I you loved "Fifty Shades of Grey" or not because you thought the writing was not that great, you wont be disappointed in the series.

Gabriel's Redemption (Gabriel's Inferno Trilogy)

Many of you may know that the release date for Gabriel's Redemption is on December 3, 2013 and I am extremely excited to be one of the many people to be reading and reviewing this book for an amazing author such as Sylvain Reynard. For those of you have not yet read the series you still have time to catch up for the release of the third and I'm guessing (but sadly disappointed) final book in the series.

When I started reading heavily two years ago, Gabriel's Inferno was the one I simply could not forget. Even though it's been well over a year since I first read the book and the second one, Gabriel's Rapture, I seem to find myself returning to it multiple times over the past few months. Certain parts in the book just seem to latch on to your soul and take hold and never really seem to let go. That's why I can not wait to read the next book, to find out what Sylvain has in store for our beloved Julianne and handsome Professor Gabriel.

I also have been loving the new and fun way that some people have come up with to introduce the characters and story line with new viewers. On twitter, you can follow the story of Julianne Mitchell and Prof. Gabriel Emerson through @GabrielEmersonsHub. This is a new and fun way of introducing the story from a different point of view. Most people who just don't have the passion to sit down and actually read a book can find this way of presenting the story to viewers in a whole new light. I find this way very entertaining on so many levels. Not only do you get first person point of view but you also can look at the story in a new light.

If you find the time to pick up a copy of the Gabriel's Inferno Trilogy you will not be disappointed in these great stories.

I hope every one has a wonderful and fantastic weekend.

My Unexpected Forever by

Spoiler Alert!!!

Lord help me that I think I loved this book more then "My Forever Girl". I always have loved inked men and drummers, so this story was a wet dream for me. Everything about this book was amazing.
I love Harrison and Katelyn together, they are two opposites that seem to just fit like missing pieces to a puzzle.

From the moment Harrison met Katelyn he just had to be around her, even if it was just mowing her lawn. Katelyn was trying to find every excuse in the book not to be with Harrison, all the way down to his very sexy tattoos. Harrison knew Katelyn was still morning the death of her husband, Mason, still Harrison was willing to try and be with her even with all of the hang ups she was dealing with.

Then someone from Harrison's past threatens to ruin the relationship and trust that they built together as a couple.
Does Katelyn's love for Harrison overcome his past regret's or does Katelyn feel like it's too much for to handle?

"Everything I thought about you was wrong. I had a list a mile long of reasons why we wouldn't work. First with your tattoos, I assumed the worst. Then there was the woman at the bar when we were in Florida. When I saw that happen, I thought there was no way I'd be able to trust someone like you and wondered how Josie was doing it. I was so standoffish, and yet you come over twice a week to mow my lawn, even though I never asked you to. I kept saying we couldn't e together and now that we are, I can't find a reason for us not to be. If anything, you should hate me for being a bitch to you." - Katelyn

by

I honestly loved this book. I did feel it felt a bit rushed with each scene, but still a good story. This book seriously brought me to tears. I don't know if it's this month or maybe I am having and emotional breakdown. LOL.

These books are hard for me to read this month because I lost my grandmother to cancer in August last year. It's been hard feeling like I am reliving the pain. I guess that's why I am attached to these books. It gives me a peace of mind knowing that maybe sometimes happy endings can happen even if it was not for my family.

Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

This is a 5 out of 5 Star Book!!

OMG!!! No words can describe how much I LOVED this book. It was absolutely perfect in every way possible.

 I laughed.

 I cried.

 I even got upset.

Everything was about this book is what I look for in a story. Not only is it a great story but it touched my heart. I can relate to this story on so many levels, but it definitely made it hard for me to read. Especially this month. Last year in August I lost my grandmother to her 10 year battle with cancer. This definitely hit a soft spot. No book has gotten to me they way this book has.

Rachel Van Dyken ripped the band-aid off a barley healed wound and made the water works flow from me. I can't even describe the way I felt when the book was over. I had such mixed emotions that I ended up curling into my husband and listened to his heart beat.

All I have to say is thank you Rachel for this beautiful story. You truly are an amazing writer.

Rachel Van Dyken added an Extended Epilogue for "Ruin" Click the link below to check it out:

If You Leave: The Beautifully Broken Series: Book 2

I don't even know where to begin right now about how much I loved this story. My heart breaks for them, but not in a way most of you might think. This is a Story about a broken soldier trying to just live is life after leaving a horrific accident in Afghanistan and losing a fellow soldier in the process. I know first hand what it's like to see the effects of war has on someone that you care about. My brother was medically discharged from the USMC after being diagnosed with severe PTSD and head trauma. It effects him every day. This book made me cry my freaking eyes out because of the way Courtney made every detail seem so real, as if my brother or one of his fellow Marines was telling the story. All I have to say is well done. She definitely did her research when it came to this book. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Always save the best for last

"Because sometimes doing the wrong thing was the only thing that felt right"
  - Roni Loren

Always save the best for last, at least that's what they say... It's differently true in this case! Roni Loren does it again with a great story of Ian Foster and Cela Madina (Andre's Little Sister). This is a must read for me and I recommend ALL of her stories. One of my favorite authors after discovering that their is life after Fifty Shades.

I was a little upset that I had to wait a week or so to continue the book with only a few chapters in each installment, but never the less, still worth the wait!!

"Never have I ever ... been this happy"

I am anxiously awaiting the release of "Caught up in You" Wyatt Austin and Kelsey LeBreck’s story due to release August 6th, 2013.

The Marriage Merger (Marriage to a Billionaire #4) by Jennifer Probst

I was instantly taken in by the story of Julietta and Sawyer in this dark romance of two people not really looking for love with unspoken demons that always seem to be lurking in the shadows for them. Julietta is strong willed and determined to make her mark in the business world filled with chauvinistic men thinking if you don't own a penis then you have no right or say in there world.

Sawyer comes from a life filled with unwanted nightmares that he can never seem to escape and the only way he seems to feel anything is when he dominates the boardroom or the bedroom. Never looking for more then a few nights in the sack with a woman but always feeling empty inside.

When Sawyer meets Julietta for the first time in a meeting regarding La Dolce Famiglia and his new business venture he becomes captivated by her and the sexual tension between the two seems to give them something more to look forward too then meetings.
Even if I found some of the scenes to be drawn out and found myself losing focus on most areas, I did enjoy the book. And for those who love BDSM romance and tortured pasts it's a good read. You will not be disappointed. The love scenes are hot!!!

What's Cooking...??

Have you ever just wanted to do something that you have never done before? Or have you been too afraid to just do something that makes you happy? Well I'm finally going to do what I love. Every one who knows me knows I live to read. Give me a great book a glass of wine (or a Miller) and I am as happy as a kid in a candy store. So I have decided I am going to write!! Yes that's it people I am going to write a book. I know it will be a long journey for me and I'm sure one hell of an experience and I can't wait to share it with you. Wish me luck and I will be posting teasers here and there to give you a feel of what will be coming to you soon. Love you all. And remember to always follow your heart no matter what stands in your way.

The best things....

The best things in this life are full of surprises. One of my favs is coming home to my kids from a long day at work. They always seem to put a smile on my face. At night when it's time for bed, they curl up with me and want to read a good book. Remember it's not what you have that makes life great, it's the people you love that do.
